Atlantic Furniture prides themselves on using eco-friendly hardwood, otherwise known as the Rubber Tree. Using these trees is economical and good for the Earth because:
- After 30 years, a decline in latex production has made only tapping rubber trees for their sap uneconomic
- Trees are removed by hand and replaced with new seedlings
- In the past, felled rubber trees were either burnt on the spot or used as fuel for locomotive engines, brick firing or latex curing. The wood is now used in the manufacture of high-end furniture. It is valued for its dense grain, stability, attractive color and acceptance of different finishes.
- It is also prized as an “environmentally friendly” wood, since it makes use of trees that have been cut down at the end of their latex-producing life cycle and are always replaced with new seedlings

The most important thing to remember about truck freight is that you MUST inspect the package at the time of delivery. If the box has any damage, or if there is any reason for you to be at all concerned about damage, please write "PRODUCT DAMAGED" clearly on the sheet that they ask you to sign. This simply insures that if there is any damage, it will be easy to take care of the problem.
If you are ordering a very large item, please keep in mind that you may need a couple of people to help unload it. Alternatively, most truck freight companies offer additional services to help you move items from the truck into your house. Once we email you the tracking information you can contact the shipper directly to inquire about additional services. You would be responsible for directly paying the truck freight carrier for any additional services.

the bed is solid, looks good and i believe it will last, but i was very frustrated with the assembly process. basically, several guide holes were drilled in sloppy fashion on BOTH of the beds i bought for my kids, so the bolts would not line up with the receiving cylinders in those locations. i handled it by enlarging the holes with a drill, but i can not imagine my wife doing that if she had to assemble the beds on her own.
the process took almost four hours for the two beds.

The bed was easy to put together, and worked great in my daughter's studio apartment. We purchased two (2) drawers that were available for extra storage and they were great also.

The new mattresses no longer come with "box springs". They come with a solid base but it's not nice looking or functional like the Platform Bed w/ drawers.
Storage is always needed. This gives you ample storage and it's nice looking. Another bonus, if you don't want to use a dust ruffle, it won't be missed!
Are there casters on the bed so it can be moved easily? If not, that is the first thing we would add to this.
